Quasi-Orthogonal Time DivisionMultiplexing and Its Performances in Rayleigh Fading Channels

چکیده
This paper proposes an efficient transmission scheme, Quasi-Orthogonal Time Division Multiplexing (QOTDM), which employs the shift orthogonal property of the pulse function with raised-cosine spectral shape, and the signal waveforms are quasiorthogonal in time domain. Comparing to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), QOTDM is less sensitive to carrier frequency offset and power amplifier nonlinearities while keeping a similar spectral efficiency with OFDM due to singlecarrier characteristics. QOTDM is a suitable consideration for the downlink transmission such as in satellite communications. An upper bound of sample error probability (SER) is derived to evaluate the performance of QOTDM. Comparisons of QOTDM and OFDM in Rayleigh fading channels show that the proposed QOTDM system is better than that of OFDM system in terms of bit error rate (BER) in high Eb/No regions.

This work explores the performances of Space-Time and Space Frequency Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with simple two branches transmit diversity scheme. The combination of multiple-antenna and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) provides reliable communications over frequency selective fading channels. We focus on the application of space-time block codes ...
متن کاملSpace-time signal design for time-correlated Rayleigh fading channels
The existing constructions of space-time codes or modulation have mainly focused on two ideal situations: either quasi-static or rapid fading channels. In this paper, we consider the design of robust space-time modulation for time-correlated Rayleigh fading channels. We show that the space-time signals of square size achieving full diversity in quasi-static fading channels can also achieve the ...
متن کاملEstimates for the growth of inverse determinant sums of quasi-orthogonal and number field lattices
Inverse determinant sums appear naturally as a tool for analyzing performance of space-time codes in Rayleigh fading channels. This work will analyze the growth of inverse determinant sums of a family of quasi-orthogonal codes and will show that the growths are in logarithmic class. This is considerably lower than that of comparable number field codes.

This article presents new rate-1 STBCs attending full diversity over every QAM constellation when the number of Tx antennas is a power of two. From the simulation results, our design performs very closely to the quasi-orthogonal code with constellation rotation over 4-QAM and 16-QAM in the case of four Tx antennas over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Moreover, the proposed codes would no...
